Hey YouPlay staff, are you uncomfortable that I have used my full name on this site? Would you like me to just use my given name without the surname in future? I was chatting with a person from Mauritius, and a whole section of what I wrote was cut out. Censored? Maybe I should just give my first name only? Would that make you happier?

Hi, Liesl,
I'm just another member of the site, but I've often watched the chat while playing games. I've seen the same thing happen to other people - they call it being lost in cyberspace. It's just something that happens, I believe. I wouldn't worry that you're being censored, but of course, you will want an answer from the staff. I just thought I could reassure you from my own observation that it doesn't seem to mean any censorship. I hope my answer relieves your concern until the staff come on board.
All the best, Beauregarde.

Hi Liesl,
Was it only the second part of the what you typed that was missing? If you typed over 250 characters, the maximum you can post in one message, the rest of it would have been lost.
The character countdown is visible in the main chat window but not in a game chat window.
Hope this helps.

Hi Liesl,
From my point of view, there is nothing wrong with your username, and it certainly isn't offensive. As Beauregarde has mentioned it may have been that your message was just a little longer and a bit went *whoosh* into cyber space.
There isn't an issue with using your full name on the site, (for example my Surname is McNaughton, and given name Troy... hence McTroy).
I think it's important to be mindful of your security when online, but no more than you would be in your everyday life... it's just common sense really, don't provide anyone with any information that you're not comfortable with sharing in a public arena.
Liesl, you can always contact me direct if you worried or concerned about anything =)
